How to Become a member

You can easily join our Study Support Centre and benefit from the variety of resources that are available to support you in your language, skills and career development.

What you need to do?

You can join by filling in a membership application form and providing us with:

  • a passport-size photograph
  • a current PO Box number and area code
  • memberships fees of JOD 10.000

What benefits members get?

Borrowing: you can borrow up to six items at a time for a period of two weeks.

Reservation: you can reserve up to two items at the issue desk. The items reserved will be kept for you to collect for a period of two weeks after their return.

Categories of memberships

  • Study Support Centre membership (JOD10.00 per year)
  • ·One month free membership which will be available for every new member joining the Study Support Centre once it is being officially launched in January 2012.

It will take us 24 hours to process your application. Once you have your membership card, you can borrow items straight away.

Please note that you need to:

  • bring your card each time you borrow or renew items.
  • If you changed your contact details (address/telephone number/..) please inform us so we can update your record.
  • In case you lost your card, tell us immediately because you are responsible for all materials issued on your card

Please note that membership fees cannot be refunded.

Memberships’ standards

  • To replace a lost/damaged membership card, we charge a nominal fee of JOD 3.000
  • To replace a lost/damaged item on loan to you, our charge is based on the cost of the item.
  • For all the overdue items, our charge is 100 fils per day per item.

Please note we do not allow:

  • smoking in any part of the building
  • eating or drinking in the Study Support Centre.
  • noise (including talking on your mobile phone) which disturbs other members.
  • Children under the age of 11 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Please keep you personal belongings with you all times. The British Council does not take any responsibility for their loss or damage.

Payment policy

  1. All payments should be made in full
  2. We accept only cash, cheques and visa credit cards
  3. All payments should be in Jordanian Dinar
