Undergraduate study in the UK
In order to apply to UK universities for a first degree, the student needs to carry out a course search and apply online through wwww.ucas.com.
On the UCAS website, you will find information about the different parts of the application form, entrance exams and courses as well as links to university and college websites. The time for applications is 1 September – 15 January. As from 16 January – 30 June applications will still be considered but will be categorised as late applications. The applications process starts one year before the student is due to join the university.
Students are allowed to choose 5 programmes, but if applying for medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or veterinary science; you are only allowed four choices.
Students with either GCE or IB qualifications can progress directly to UK universities once they have met the entry requirements specified by their chosen academic institution. Students of the local Jordanian education system (Tawjihi), will be required to undergo a foundation year before they actually join their first degree programme.
The British Council provides you with information and guidance regarding your application process but does not actually apply on your behalf
Postgraduate study in the UK
The postgraduate study can be either taught or research. The majority of the masters degree courses in the UK are taught while the majority of the Mphil and PhD programmes are research based ones.
Students interested in pursuing postgraduate study in the UK are advised to use www.educationuk.org in order to find their preferred programme. The website has massive data of courses and links to websites of the academic institutions providing the courses. A brief about the course and entry requirements are provided on this site, but if you want to know about the fees and any funding opportunities you need to visit the website of the institution providing the course.
For the research based courses, the student should prepare a proposal (a brief about the topic of his research) that should be sent along with his application.

English Language Placement Services
We offer English Language Teaching (ELT) placement services on behalf of students. You can search and choose your preferred school from www.englishuk.com or www.educationuk.org
We advise students to check the number of hours/classes per week (it should not be less than 15 hours per week), types of accommodation (home stay or residential), class size (number of students in the classroom), fees and also location. We help you then to limit your choices to two ELT institutions and find accommodation to suit your needs.
Once you made your decision on the two ELT institutions, you then need to complete a need analysis form and pay a non-refundable administration fee of JOD 200. After signing a binding contract with the British Council, we start corresponding with your chosen school. We need six weeks to complete all the administrative procedures related to this service.
The vast majority of English language schools in the UK, can take new students every Monday and students can study in these schools for periods between two weeks and one year.

Validation and Certification of British Qualifications
This service involves certain mandatory procedures to ensure the correctness and authenticity of the certificate and to confirm that the originating institutions are officially recognised.
In order to get your certificates stamped, we need to receive a confirmation of your certificates directly sent by fax or email to our Customer Services desk. We charge JOD 10 for stamping any original and JOD 5 for stamping any copy. We can also undertake a verification service on your behalf for the fee of JOD 40 and you will be entitled to 3 free stampings.
