The English Language Teaching Contacts Scheme (ELTeCS) is a global network of institutions and English Language Teaching professionals (ELT). It was established to foster expertise in English Language Teaching and is a way for the British Council to set up and support regional networks of ELT professionals. The ELTeCS-Jordan network was created to bring together people who share an interest in ELT in Jordan.

As part of our strategy of offering ongoing learning, training, and self-development, and to continue in our spirit of mutual cooperation, the British Council Knowledge and Information Services has pleasure in proposing a programme of workshops for Teachers of English. Part of the wider English Language Teaching electronic Contact Scheme (ELTeCS), these workshops will be conducted in Amman, at our premises in Rainbow Street. Our previous session of 14 October 2009 entitled Creativity in the Classroom presented by Ms Sue Magee. Have a look
Our next session will be on 25 November 2009 entitled Available English delivered by Roxanna Hughes and Philippa Baker. In our changing world, students are exposed to far more English than we realise. Learners watch DVDs in English, listen to English language songs on the radio, read English magazines, see advertisements in English and often use the internet to communicate in English on a daily basis. We aim to generate ideas to help teachers exploit these readily available materials to provide rich learning opportunities for their students both inside and outside the classroom.
To join ELTeCS-Jordan all you need to do is fill-in an ELTeCS application form and return it to info@britishcouncil.org.jo
