The British Council provided the opportunity for a group of 12 young Jordanian graffiti artists to explore their thoughts on graffiti art in public spaces on different themes related to self-expression, identity, and freedom on the connection with society and vision for the future. This project was facilitated by UK graffiti artist Stik, who has a wealth of experience in street art and graffiti.
At the end of the workshops the artists exchanged ideas and techniques with Stik and with each other, having gained a strong insight into the community of Jabal Al Qala’a, and had formulated ideas about the graffiti art they have created in the public spaces of Jabal Al Qala’a. The graffiti artwork was showcased as part of the Chapter One exhibition held by An Urban Reflection in the period 10-17 November 2012 and as part of the creative trail of Creative Jordan: Platform for Visionary Ideas Festival.
