IELTS Clerical Markers - JORDAN
CLOSING DATE :7 March 2013

Examination services need to recruit IELTS clerical markers to mark the listening and reading answer sheets against the answer keys received along with the test materials. Short-listed applicants are required to attend a face-to-face training and pass specific exercises, successful applicants then will be hired.
We usually administrate three IELTS sessions per month; potential clerical markers will be called upon needs. The rate is JOD 3.000 per every Listening and Reading Answer sheet marked.

Minimum requirements:

English language proficiency

A competent level of English to enable full understanding of the complexities of the IELTS Marking Policy. Candidates may be required to set for a local English language placement test for evaluation.

Education

Minimum qualifications: Secondary/High School Diploma, A-Levels or equivalent.

Personal qualities

Trustworthiness, ability to pay attention to detail, conscientiousness and reliability

Documents to be provided

  • School/College/University certificate.

All clerical markers will be required to sign the IELTS confidentiality Undertaking and sign and abide by the IELTS code of Practice for Clerical Markers.

Project Manager - JORDAN
CLOSING DATE : 9 March 2013

The post holder will be responsible for the management of EU funded projects, multi-country projects. The post holder will manage the project implementation in Jordan and will be located in the British Council Jordan Directorate office in Amman. Key duties include:

  • Project development & delivery
  • Financial and contract management and reporting
  • Project monitoring & evaluation
  • Relationship management within designated programme stakeholders (internal and external)

The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Evidence of experience with project implementation, financial monitoring, and reporting
  • Strong sense of achievement and client management orientation
  • Evidence in building and maintaining relationship for influence
  • Capacity to apply procedures flexibly with high accountability
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently

Basic salary starts at JOD 850, plus 2 months bonus salary, Provident Fund, medical insurance and Social Security

Senior Programmes Manager /Society and Education - Jordan
CLOSING DATE : 10 March 2013

We are looking for an experienced Senior Programmes Manager to manage and deliver on the implementation and quality control of large scale projects full cost recovery, co-funding, partnership opportunities and agreed local projects in the programmatic areas of Society and Education and by working with partners, stakeholders and wider target audiences in Jordan to achieve maximum impact and meet the British Council’s strategic objectives.

Basic salary starts at JOD 1425 plus 2 months bonus salary, Provident Fund, medical insurance and Social Security

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Financial Planning and Management
  • Business Management and Development

Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years management experience
  • A proven track record in the management of large projects
  • At least 2 years experience in donor-funded project pursuit or fundraising.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree
Postgraduate degree in Education, Development, Social Sciences, Arts or MBA.
