This course is designed for students who have completed an intermediate course at the British Council but do not feel ready to proceed to the Upper Intermediate level.
New students who have not studied English for some time and need or would like a refresher course.

The Step Up 1 course is a topic-based, integrated skills course and is designed to prepare you for the Upper Intermediate level by consolidating your language skills and boosting your confidence.

In the Step Up 1 course you will be able to:
- improve your confidence in speaking and listening
- review and consolidate key vocabulary and grammar
- have extensive skills practice in speaking, listening, reading, writing and pronunciation
- use authentic reading and listening materials from a variety of sources
- focus on effective communication and natural English
