About this course
When the learners have completed the course they will be able to:
- understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
- produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
- describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Course outline
On the Intermediate course, and according to needs, you practise the following speaking skills and functions:
- Talking about how you spend your time
- Describing a memory
- Recommending and describing places
- Making suggestions and giving reasons
- Talking about good and bad points
- Reviewing a movie or book
- Giving advice for general situations
- Describing a personal or ideal possession
- Giving and explaining opinions / Agreeing and Disagreeing
- Telling a story
- Discussing advantages and disadvantages
- Giving solutions to problems
