Get a taste of UK university study here in Japan! UK lecturers often visit the British Council Japan to talk on a range of topical themes, using exactly the same format as their university lectures.

UK universities offer courses in a wide range of fields, from art and design to biotechnology or business and management, which means that you are sure to find a course that's right for you. In this series, we choose the hottest topics and allow you to sample the UK study experience without leaving Japan.

Whether you are thinking of studying in the UK, like English, or are interested in the lecture topic, you are welcome to attend.

Art & Design - Preparing your Portfolio

Lecturer: Chris Maughan, Head of Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts

Chris Maughan from the Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts will give a presentation designed to introduce students to the elements needed to gain entry at Foundation, BA and MA level, covering the Dos and Don'ts of how to apply. It will cover the importance of the Foundation course in an Art student's study, what to look for in choosing the right course and outline the variety of areas on offer and the careers they can lead to.

The lecture will take place in English. Anyone is welcome to take part, especially those with an interest in studying art in the UK.
