Taking your first degree in the UK

UK qualifications are recognised and respected throughout the world.  They provide a vibrant, creative and challenging environment to develop your potential.  Quality standards for UK universities are among the best, ensuring that your qualification will be the foundation for building your future.

Most university prospectuses and other relevant information can be found on the university’s web site.  Undergraduate programmes at British universities usually last three years.  The academic year begins in September or October and ends in June.  The year is traditionally divided into three “terms”, although in recent years some institutions have moved to semesters.

All institutions accept overseas students on a competitive basis and are accustomed to applicants with Jamaican qualifications.  Entry requirements vary so you should contact your chosen university directly to find out what they would expect from a Jamaican student.
