Levi Tafari in a working group with students

Thursday 15th October
IC Comprensivo “E. De Amicis, Castronno
“ Levi Tafari is a truly extraordinary person! Brimming over with energy, he made us all feel at ease immediately, as if we had known him for ages. His poems, with their rap-like rhythm, provide a much-needed example of tolerance and respect. These poems teach us that the differences between people are a treasure and not a threat. I can still hear the echo of our students joining in with Levi as he read one of his poems by shouting out at the top of their lungs 'let’s celebrate diversity' – what a beautiful memory!" Prof. Claudia Lesica, Dirigente Scolastico IC De Amicis, Castronno

Friday 16th October
ITIS di Setificio “Paolo Carcano”, Como

"When I was told that we would meet a rapper-poet on a Friday, my first thought was “What a drag…”, but as I had agreed to it, I went along. And I had to eat my words: Levi Tafari reminded me just how good rap can be and thanks to his workshop, I even brushed up on some of my rusty English. But above all, I really enjoyed myself, even though when we had to read our own raps out loud in front of 3 other classes, I did feel a little nervous. A heartfelt thanks to Levi Tafari, for his enthusiasm and the lessons on life that he shared with" Cecilia

The British artist worked in the morning with a group of students and in the afternoon he gave a performance in front of a large group of students from the 2 comprehensive schools. During the day, the Young Leader Diego Pedroli, back from a European seminar held in Amsterdam, was able to tell us about his experience of mixing with peers from other countries while he was there
