'It is vitally important that young researchers ..... have an opportunity to forge international collaborations ….. to further their ideas and experience.’
Professor Bill Wakeham, Vice-Chancellor of Southampton University, one of Britain’s top 10 research-led universities, has accepted the British Council’s invitation to become the UK Chair of the British-Italian Partnership Programme. A distinguished physicist and engineer, Professor Wakeham will be responsible, with his research staff, for the UK assessment of the collaborative projects proposed each year.
