CLIMATE GENERATION

Climate Change affects all generations but it is young people who will inherit the impacts of climate change for many decades to come.

The Challenge
Climate Change is one of the most important issues facing everyone who lives in Italy
at the present time. The way that we live our lives, by burning fossil fuels for energy and cutting down forests, is increasing the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This extra layer of greenhouse gases is starting to affect Italy’s climate in extreme ways, such as heatwaves and flooding. It is time to make sure that everyone in Italy understands that climate change is affecting us all, in every town and city, and will continue to affect us if we do not work together to tackle the problem.

What does it take to be a Climate Champion? A Climate Champion has a passionate interest in, and is committed to taking action on climate change. Climate Champions are not afraid to challenge either accepted ways of thinking or their convictions. Climate Champions are forward looking, they take their ideas and put them into practice either through implementing their own projects in their schools, homes or communities, or working closely with established groups interested in environmental issues.
