British Council Italy
Pontignano 2007: Climate experts Tom Burke, Corrado Clini, John Ashton and Stephen Lowe talk to Director of Aspen Institute, Marta Dassù
Important political, economical and social themes like the relationship between state and civil society reflects on our everyday life.
Our aim in Italy is to encourage dialogue and professional networking between Italians and British in the European context, primarily in the fields of public administration, politics, management and law. Through our international network of British Council offices we are increasingly working on a multilateral level, particularly with the EU. To achieve this, we organise events and develop projects in partnership with British, Italian and European organisations, academic institutions and businesses.

INDIE

The aim of this project is to promote social cohesion, raise educational standards and build lasting networks which focus on the common challenges presented by immigration and cultural diversity to school education.

The Pontignano Conference
Pontignano is the cornerstone of the society programme. It brokers intellectual engagement on the key issues of the day for the UK and Italy, and Europe in general, and enables those present to speak to each other in new ways "through the prism of the other nationality" (John Lloyd).
