Once more in the territory of neurological dysfunction, working on more in-depth research with some specialists in the visualisation of the heart from the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, Wayne McGregor - choreographer and founder of Random Dance - presents, for the first time in Italy, Amu which in Arabic means ‘of the heart’. In the performance it is the heart’s physical functions and symbolic resonance that are investigated by the dancers, who know how to bring to life an energy field through their movements, but also through the ‘mystic’ music by the composer John Tavener. This is his first score for dance, inspired by an ancient Sufi love poem and composed for 50 orchestra pieces and 7 singers. The energy field is also brought to life through the video animation created by the Iranian artist Shirazeh Houshiary. Feeling, sensation, spirituality, or rather Body, Soul, Science, appear to find their poetic synthesis in Amu.
