Cwlwm
Pysgotwr yn y mwrin
Yn rhwymo’n fodlon ar fin
Yr hen gei ronyn o gwch
I gwlwm diogelwch,
Plethu’i gamp laith o’i gwmpas
Rhag i’r môr ei gario mas.

Minnau ar fin cymoni
Fy mhlethwaith llaith ar y lli,
Cordeddu’n dynn derfyn dydd
Rith o gywarch wrth gywydd
Yn gwlwm plyg o’i gwmpas
Rhag i’r môr ei gario mas.

Knot
A fisherman in the mooring
by the quay happily binding
a kernel of a boat
into the safety of a knot,
about its dampness deftly weaving
lest the sea lay claim to it.

I too am tidying
on the surface my own weaving,
twining tightly in the twilight
a virtual rope to verse,
to hold the poem folded, knotted,
lest the sea lay claim to it.
