Laila Diallo was trained in Canada before moving to the UK, where she performed extensively with Random Dance from 1997 to 2005, before developing her own performance style through a series of solos and duets. The Wayside is an exploration of loss and resilience. A solo piece, it is enhanced by the atmospheric sound design of Phil King and Andy Dowie's lighting. Diallo's vivid dancing fills the piece with understated emotive power.
