KATE CLANCHY

Kate Clanchy was born in Glasgow and educated in Edinburgh and Oxford. After spending several years in London, she moved to Oxford where she now works as a teacher, journalist and freelance writer. As well as teaching Creative Writing at the Arvon Foundation, she makes regular contributions to the Guardian newspaper, writes for radio and broadcasts on the World Service and BBC Radio 3 & 4. Kate Clanchy is the author of two prize-winning collections of poetry, the acclaimed Slattern and Samarkand (1999). Her latest collection is Newborn (2004), a collection of poems covering pregnancy, birth and caring for a new baby.

Kate Clanchy will represent UK at the 12th edition of "Poeti Europei del '900" at Teatro Studio.
