JOCELYN POOK

Jocelyn Pook composes music for film, television, theatre, dance and the concert platform. Since graduating in 1983 from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied the viola, she has also toured and recorded extensively with many leading names in rock, pop and classical music, both as a soloist and with her ensemble Electra Strings. She has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including The Communards, Laurie Anderson, Massive Attack, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Peter Gabriel.

Natacha Atlas, the daughter of an English mother and a Sephardic Jew father, grew up in a Moroccan suburb of Brussels and was heavily influenced by the Arabic culture. Moving to England as a teen, Atlas quickly attracted attention as the first Arabic rock singer in Northampton. A former singer for technopop band, Transglobal Underground, and an occassional collaborator of Jah Wobble, Atlas has continued to explore the fusion of her musical roots with western electronic, dance music.

Following their recent collaboration on the song "Adam's Lullaby", Jocelyn and Natacha have started to write a new set of songs for an album due to be released in 2005.
