Ian Kiaer was born in London in 1971 and graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2000. He is known for his complex and fragile installations, often on a miniature scale, where he groups architectural models, untouched or slightly modified found objects and two-dimensional work to create fragmented and poetic narratives. His work is layered with references to selected figures and concepts from the history of architecture, literature and philosophy. For his solo show, Kiaer brings together both new and existing pieces to explore the work of three visionary architects: Frederick Kiesler, Kenzo Tange and Claude Ledoux.
