Future Systems is an architectural and design practice producing highly original work. The designs are not only architecturally innovative and visually striking, but are also pieces of highly functional equipment, inspired by both nature and technologies transferred from other industries.The practice is recognised worldwide for consistently challenging traditional preconceptions of space and demonstrating environmental concern and efficiency, without the need to compromise on contemporary form. "Working with artists" will focus on the studio’s collaborations with artists over the last few years including Anish Kapoor, Matthew Barney and Anthony Gormley.
On show will be conceptual models, drawings and photographs from the design process of Naples Subway, Southbank, Diana Memorial, Egg Cinema and Wembley Bridge. Shown alongside these projects will be the Media Centre at Lord’s,  Selfridges in Birmingham, the Spencer Dock bridge in Dublin and the Drift Bench for Established & Sons designed to express the crossover between architecture, art and design.
Amanda Levete’s lecture will cover her favourite projects over the last 15 years and she will talk about the crossover between architecture, art, design and the eternal tension between form and function.
