Since 1998, the British Council’s annual students show in Milan has launched the work of over 50 graduating British designers. Previous winners include Alys Walton, whose entry Domestic Steps is being developed with Tom Dixon, and will be included in this year’s Salone as part of a collection for Artek, and Susan Bradley, whose Outdoor Wallpaper is a big success, and will be exhibiting in the Salone Satellite this year. The winning exhibits include: Talented also includes As If By Magic... a series of short films depicting “magical solutions to everyday problems” which have been produced by Kingston University Furniture & Product Design students, in response to a brief set by Pascal Anson. Anson was featured in the British Council/Design Museum/Paul Smith exhibition Great Brits at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2005.
