BULATS Reading & Listening. HOW TO REGISTER:

Please download the registration form pdf icon and send it back to us with a cheque for 60€ made payable to the British Council. There is no deadline for registration: we can accept your registration up until the day before the test if places are still available (20 persons maximum).

HOW IS THE TEST ADMINISTERED?

Once you are registered, you will receive a notification by post or e-mail indicating the test day and time. You need to arrive at the British Council 15 minutes before the beginning of the test, along with your notification and your ID.

The test takes place in a computer room and lasts no more than 85 minutes (it can be shorter depending on the number of questions the program needs in order to determine your level). You will be seated in front of a computer equipped with headphones, and a supervisor will be present to guide and help you if needed. Before beginning the actual test, you will be allowed a short practice in order to get familiar with the kind of questions you will have to face and the way to answer them.

BULATS Reading & Listening online test uses 'adaptive' testing techniques to pinpoint ability quickly and accurately, from a beginner level to an upper-advanced level. As the candidate progresses through the test, the computer selects the next question on the basis of the previous answers, becoming progressively easier or more difficult until a consistent and accurate level of ability is determined. The adaptive nature of computer-based BULATS means each test is virtually unique.

RESULTS:

Once you have completed the test, we will hand you a Test Report Form which includes your name, the name of your company/organisation (if required), the test date and the results:

- The overall results are given as a level (based on the CEFR system from A1 to C2), as well as a global score on a scale of  0 – 100.

The report is printed by the supervisor onto official BULATS report form paper. On the reverse is a summary of the 'Can Do' Staements.
