The British Council runs English language courses for children from the age of 5 and for teenagers up to the age of 17 (from Grande Section maternelle up to Terminale) in our Teaching Centre in Paris-Invalides and in our partner schools at Paris-Nation and in Versailles. Our school year courses start in September and finish in June. There are 30 classes of 2 or 3 hours per week over three terms, making courses of 60 or 90 hours a year depending on the type and level of course.
The Young Learner Programme is divided into two sections
English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Section |
Bilingual Section |
The EFL Section is for students who are learning English as a Foreign Language at school in order to supplement and reinforce their studies. Classes are organised by age and level from beginner to advanced (A1-C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages).
The Bilingual Section is for students who already speak English fluently. These students usually have an English-speaking parent(s) or live in an English-speaking environment. Some of these students may have attended school in an English-speaking country abroad. Our classes are organised by school class and based on the UK's ‘National Curriculum’ Attainment targets.
The Bilingual Section is only available at our centre at Paris Invalides.
Course location: British Council, 9 rue de Constantine, 75007 Paris (Métro et RER C Invalides).
The schedule, fees and course locations are available on our programme.
