“Que faire? Art / film / politics…” is a series of events proposed by le peuple qui manque , an independent curatorial group working in partnership with the film department of the Centre Pompidou. Offering a fresh perspective on current new critical strategies in international creation, particularly in contemporary production and the audio visual sector, the programme focusses primarily on the relationship between art and politics, and the current revival of political art.

Work from over 30 artists from all over the world is shown and considered through a critical symposium, complimented by artist presentations and video projections. Among the participants is Rasheed Araeen, a Pakistani artist who has been living and working in London since 1964. In his famous journal the Third Text, Araeen began to investigate art and its relationship with the Third World and post-colonialsm, and he has been particularly interested in voicing the needs of artists of African, Latin American and Asian origins within British cultural institutions.
