Am I eligible?
To enter FameLab you must have a first degree in science. Participants age group - up to 35 years. The competition is open to postgraduate students, early to mid career scientists, researchers and anyone working in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine.

How do I enter?
Register for the date and place you wish to participate in and present any scientific topic to our panel of judges.

What happens at the competitions?
In each location there will be two rounds. The first round takes place during the day in front of a panel of judges.  The second round takes place the same day, in the evening, in front of the same panel of judges and an audience.

All contestants will be given a maximum of 3 minutes in which to impress the judges.  The judges will be looking for exciting and engaging talks that can be understood by a general public adult audience. Props are not allowed as there is no set up time or assistance so the rule is ‘bring only whatever you can carry ’. Powerpoint presentations are not permitted. The competition is in Hebrew.

Successful contestants of the first round will go through to the evening round to present a different 3 minute talk.  A public audience will be present for this second round. The judges will be able to question you after each presentation and will also give you feedback where possible.

Three finalists from each location will be chosen to go through to the final at the Hemda Centre for Science Education in Tel Aviv.  Here you will be asked to give another 3 minute presentation of a contemporary science topic that is different from the previous ones.  The judges will be able to question you on the topic and give feedback.

Remember, to get to the Final, you will need three different 3 minute talks!
