Chevening - UCL Israel Alumni - Chaim Herzog Award

The University College London (UCL) Israel Alumni Association and the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) offer an annual award in memory of the late President Chaim Herzog. The award will enable the recipient to undertake a Masters Programme at UCL in September 2009. Preference will be given to subject areas related to public policy, economics or history.

The scholarship application deadline for 2009/2010 is 12 December 2008. No late applications will be considered

Living expenses
Return economy airfare

Awards do not cover costs for accompanying family members

Selection Criteria

Outstanding ability in proposed field of study or research
Potential for making an impact on public life in Israel
Strong leadership and communication skills
High level of proficiency in spoken and written English
Candidates called for an interview must have an IELTS score of 7
Candidates should be between the ages of 25 and 40
Applicants should be Israeli nationals currently living in Israel
Preference will be given to graduates of an Israeli university
Preference will be given to applicants who have never studied in the UK
Candidates must commit to return to Israel on completion of studies for at least three years

We will be accepting applications for the Chevening Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2009/2010 from 25 September 2008.
