These scholarships will allow suitably qualified candidates to study for taught postgraduate programs at the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex. Scholarships are available for the MA in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights and the LLM in International Human Rights Law, both one year programmes.

Awards

The award covers

Academic tuition fees
Examination fees
A monthly stipend for living costs for one student
Other agreed allowances including one economy airfare

Eligibility

The scholarships are open to Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel. Detailed information about eligibility and the application procedure are available on the Open Society Institute (OSI) website.

Selection Procedure

All applications will be sent to the Essex University Human Rights Centre. Applicants will be informed whether they have been invited for interview and English language tests by the end of March 2009. It is expected that these will take place in April/May 2009.
