February 7th 2012 witnesses the 200-year anniversary of Charles Dickens' birth, and we are a planning a series of workshops, events and resources to commemorate the bicentennial of one of the most prolific British authors. The TeachingEnglish website has ready-to-go lesson plans and there will be a series of short films about Dickens' heroes and villains, such as Oliver Twist and Scrooge. We are giving away free Dickens resource packs to schools that organise a Dickens event to mark the author's big day. So get creative! Organise a Victorian party, a Dickens debate, a film screening or a play. Read more about our exciting Dickens' Performances with Jeremy Harmer (ELT expert).
1908, 1944 and for the third time the Olympic and Paralympic Games will take place in London in 2012.
