We connect people with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK and aim to build lasting relationships between the UK and Iraq.

Education is the focus of our re-engagement with Iraq, working in partnership with Iraqi institutions and individuals to reconnect Iraq with the international educational community and sharing the UK’s experience to help design Iraqi solutions to Iraq’s challenges.

About us
Our links with Iraq and its great tradition of culture, science and academic achievement go back a long way and have been very strong - we first opened in Iraq in 1940 - and we are delighted to be renewing them now.

Do you need to prove your English for study or work?

British Council Iraq can help you prove your English language ability for study in the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and most American universities; or you may want to work in or emigrate to one of these countries, all you have to do is follow the links below for further information and to register.

Global Changemakers will create and support a large global network of future young activists and social entrepreneurs aged between 16 and 25 and develop them into Changemakers.It is worth to mention that two Iraqi participants involved in this activity; one of them met UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown on the margin of this conference.
