WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP

Iraqi Universities have been isolated from the international academic and research community for a decade. On the advice of senior Iraqi academics we consider that our most helpful involvement is in supporting access through the internet to the wider world which has been denied to Iraqi teachers and students for many years; and in providing electronic materials for full-text access and use.

So our joint Resource Centre programme aims to reconnect academics to the world of international dialogue, exchange and knowledge sharing – and it complements the book donations programme which we are also co-ordinating.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Universities of Baghdad, Basra, Dohuk, Salahaddin and Suliamanyia in giving access to a core of high-quality electronic journals and databases in science, technology, management, the arts and English language. And, of course, with internet access, the vast resources of the World Wide Web are also available.

All teachers and postgraduate researchers at these universities are entitled to free access to the materials.  If you are a member of the university, simply apply to the staff at your resource centre and book one of the available computers.

We will continue to support academic dialogue, exchange and research in Iraq
