The Karim Rida Said Foundation offers a number of partial or exceptionally, full cost schaolrships annually for postgraduate study or training. The foundation has awarded scholarships to talented Arab students in financial need since 1984.

What do I need to apply?

You need to:

•have a good first degree
•provide evidence of your proficiency in English
•be under forty years of age
•be Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian or Syrian, normally resident in the Arab world and not hold any form of British residency
•demonstrate that your chosen course of study will be of use to your home country or the Middle East region
•have at least two years' work experience
•apply for a place on a course in the UK
•be prepared to sign a binding undertaking to return to your home country or a country of the Arab League for a set period.

What scholarship schemes are available?

Karim Rida foundation offers three programmes at postgraduate level in UK institutions:

Study for a Masters Degree in the UK

The KRSF is able to provide full or partial scholarships for Masters degrees at universities around the UK, depending on the level of financial need or whether other grants are available to applicants. While we are able to provide full funding, we are also able to provide matching funds.

The Foundation has partnership schemes with Oxford, Cambridge universities and University College London. Candidates should apply directly to these universities if they have courses meeting your needs.

KRSF - Chevening Awards

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the KRSF jointly fund up to ten awards annually for postgraduate study at a UK university for up to one year.

Awards are available for any area of study to students in financial need who demonstrate both academic excellence and the potential to become leaders, decision makers and opinion formers in their own countries.

Where can I get an application?

Details of and application forms for all KRSF scholarships can be obtained from the offices of the British Council in Amman, Beirut, Damascus, East Jerusalem, Nazareth, throughout the West Bank and in Gaza.

Forms may also be obtained directly from the Foundation’s website: www.krsf.org.

KRSF scholarships are open to Jordanian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian citizens.
