Do you want to enhance your knowledge through our Electronic Database?

If you are a member of our ELT library or you have subscribed to either one of our free e-newsletters, we can arrange for you to have access to a wide range of password protected, high quality online resources from your home or workplace. Athens offers quick access to many databases with only one username and password.

What do I have access to?

You will have access to the following resources:

ASHTRIDGE

A rich resource of Management and Organisational Development materials.

EMERALD

A powerful business research tool with over 4,000 full text articles dating back to 1994. Subject coverage includes strategy, leadership, management, marketing and human resources management plus engineering, applied sciences and technology titles.

THOMSON GALE – INFOTRACK

An excellent database that provides articles online.

Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS)

A resource archiving and disseminating large scale government and other social science datasets via the UK data archive for secondary analysis.

CREDO Reference

Unparalleled collection of high-quality reference titles. Content includes a wide range of general reference titles together with a large collection of subject-specific books spanning 20 topics, covering everything from the arts to astronomy, law to literature and science to Shakespeare. Available titles also include a range of multimedia options including thousands of high-quality diagrams, photographs, maps and audio files.

How do I obtain my own username and password?

To receive your Athens membership, you must already be a member of either our ELT library or one of our e-newsletters. Then you simply email us at Athens@ir.britishcouncil.org providing your name, family name and postal address. We will then contact you.
