British Council Iran participated at the 1st Persia Education and Training Exhibition (PETEX 2006) [www.petex.ir] held at Tehran International Exhibition Fair from Tuesday 5 to Saturday 9 September 2006.
The main objectives of this event was to exchange knowledge and experience between Iranian and foreign educational institutes and create a synergy and partnership between centres.
The Persia Education and Training Exhibition (PETEX) 2006 attracted thousands of young people to Tehran at the beginning of September where representatives of both local and international institutions were on hand to talk to students.
The exhibition represented a unique opportunity for us to introduce Iranian education providers to their UK counterparts and talk of follow-up activity is already happening.
UK universities have said that they are keen to explore the possibility of joint programmes or the provision of distance courses through Iranian institutes.
The event was a popular draw and more than 3500 people stopped at the British Council stand which was one of the most popular at the exhibition.
