In Education and Society, we are growing and strengthening the educational relationship between UK and Indonesia though a programme of active and sustainable links at tertiary and secondary level.
Our projects are designed to support educational development and reform in Indonesia and to position UK as a preferred partner, both as a study destination and for institutional links.
Through policy dialogues, leadership training and by administering donor funded projects in education, we are engaging with current and future education leaders and supporting capacity building.
An MOU signed between the Indonesian and UK governments in March 2012 is driving a number of the initiatives across the education sector, particularly in higher education, where the British Council is actively engaging with the Indonesian Ministry of Education & Culture to provide support from UK universities for the development of research and staff exchanges.
We also work with partners to strengthen social enterprise and youth networks in Indonesia to support communities create sustainable solutions to a range of social and environmental issues and to introduce UK best practice in this area.
