Postgraduate study, MBAs and PhD

Kingston University, London
2 Scholarships - MA by research on Sustainable Design supported by the Audi Design Foundation and Kingston University. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, maintenance and travel grant of £11,000. Successful students would attend the course from October 2008 for its duration of one year. Postdoctoral Bursaries 2008-9 from University of Edinburgh
Area of Humanities and Social Sciences, whose work falls within the scope of one of the Institute for Advanced Studies' current Research Themes (see www.iash.ed.ac.uk/themes.html). PhD scholarship from University of Glasgow
The Glasgow Centre for International Development is launching its GCIC scholarship scheme for countries in Africa and Asia to pursue PhD.

PhD proposal must be in one of GCID's priority research area. These are:

  • Health (Human and Animal)
  • Environmental Management
  • Education, Lifelong Learning and Global Citizenship
  • Economic Development

Successful candidates will receive a 3-year scholarship which includes tuition fees and a monthly stipend for living expenses. It is expected that successful candidates will be in possession of an excellent grade first degree along with relevant Master's degree or other good, relevant experience.

Application should include:

  • an up-to-date CV
  • transcripts of your academic record
  • the names and addresses of three referees
  • an identified home-country institution that will act as a partner in the proposed research
  • a statement from an appropriate authority within this home-country institution identifying a mentor (or co-supervisor) within the partner institution and confirming that the student will be guaranteed local supervisory support whilest back-in-country undertaking research
  • a research proposal NOT exceeding 1000 words which includes a title for your proposed project; an overal research aim for your proposed project; your research objectives or research questions; a background to proposed research, including a brief literature review; proposed methods; and a preliminary timetable of work.
