If you're planning to migrate or study abroad or if you want to meet entry requirements for college and visa processing, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will make sure you're fully prepared with the right level of English ability for your purpose.

IELTS is recognised worldwide, available in 120 countries and accepted in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States and many European countries.

What are the IELTS modules?
The IELTS test modules are Academic and General Training. Academic modules are for those who will undertake higher education study in the UK. The modules will assess whether you are ready to study or train in English at an undergraduate or postgraduate level. General Training modules are not designed to give the full range of formal language skills needed for academic purposes. It is used for non-academic training or work experience (or for immigration purposes).

What are the essential steps in registering for the IELTS test?

There are several essential steps in registering for the International English Language Testing System test. Before completing the IELTS application form or paying the registration fee, please contact us by phone to check that places for the required test session are still available.

Applications for test places are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. You will only be registered for the IELTS  test date of your choice after you have:

  • completed, signed and dated the IELTS test application form
  • paid the IELTS test fee in full
  • returned the completed IELTS test application form with proof of identity, the required photographs and proof of payment to our UK Education Services Team at this address:

How much is the test fee?

The IELTS test fee is US$150 ( to be paid only in Rupiah) based on British Council's exchange rate at the time of payment. Please transfer it directly to:

What are the requirements for registration?
  • Completed application form
  • 2 photographs sized 3x4
  • Copy of ID card (KTP or Passport)
  • Proof of payment transfer from the bank

Important note

A place will be reserved for you ONLY after we have received the completed application form at the same time as other requirements listed below:

  • Two copies of a recent photographs: size 3x4.
  • A legible photocopy of official proof of identity (KTP or Passport) which is the same document as that stated in the application form.
  • Proof of payment of the IELTS test fee from the bank.

When is the deadline for registration?
Your application form has to reach our Exams Services one (1) week prior to the test dates or two (2) days before the test date at the latest (if places are still available).
Where is the test venue?

As soon as we receive  your application, we will despatch an official letter conforming your participation in the test on the date selected, what to bring, and directions to the test venue, 5 - 4 days prior the test date. Please reconfirm your email address as the confirmation letter will be sent via email.

What time will the test start and finish?

Candidates will be asked to arrive in the exam room 30 min before the test begins. The test will consist of:

  • Listening: 09.00-09.45
  • Reading: 09.45-10.45
  • Writing: 10.45-11.45
  • Speaking : 12.00-onwards
How many copies of IELTS test result will I get?  
  1. You will receive one original IELTS Certificate (called a Test Report Form)
  2. If you require more than one copy of the TRF you must indicate the number you require (up to a maximum of 5) in advance of the test on the IELTS application form. In cases where the test candidate has applied for admission to an educational institution outside Indonesia, we will send his/her TRFs to the insitution concerned by courier service only after you have paid the cost of despatch.
  3. If you do not indicate that you require additional copies of the TRF on your application form, any subsequent request for extra copies incur a fee of Rp. 50,000 per copy.
