The Selector is the international radio showcase for the best new music from the UK. The weekly two-hour programme covers all styles of contemporary music - you’ll hear indie, grime, dubstep, folk, soul, electro and everything else in between. Each show also features artist interviews and exclusive studio sessions from some of the most exciting artists in the UK.

The Selector will bring new sounds and talents from the UK, and not just the same tunes that can be heard on an average pop/chart show.

Somethin' Else, the UK's leading independent radio production company, is commissioned by the British Council to produce the Selector show for syndication to radio stations around the world. The show is presented by Goldierocks and we currently broadcast in around 12 countries to an audience of over 1 million every week.

What's the show all about?

The Selector radio show will bring these tunes and much much more to listeners all over Jakarta. Every week there will be an assortment of tracks for you get down to, as some amazing live sessions and great interviews with artists from across the musical spectrum, including Goldfrapp, Elbow, Estelle, Nitin Sawhney, Blur, Jazzie B and Wiley amongst many others. The show will also feature other areas of our musical connections, such as an innovative interpretation of contemporary classical music, folks or music education and outreach work.

If you like UK music in its freshest and most fantastic forms then the Selector is the place to be. In the words of British Hip Hop artist Ty - 'It's a breath of fresh air... it supports and recognises talent that took other people years to notice.'

The selector radio show has been blasting through your radios from September 2001. In cooperation with TRAXFM (link to www.traxfmonsky.com ), We are on air with a weekly radio slot called The Selector. Catch it every Satudray Night at 11.00 - 12.00 p.m. on 101.4 Trax FM

Outside Jakarta

Although for the time being Selector Radio Show is only available to listeners in Jakarta, plans to take the show to Bandung and Surabaya are in the process of being confirmed, So look out, or should we say listen out, for it!
