This March Jakarta’s Old Town is experiencing extraordinary transformations!
From 7 to 13, the British Council partners with the Jakarta Government and the Jakarta Chamber of Commerce & Industry to launch Jakarta Creative City.
The programme responds to the government’s plan to revitalise its Old Town as the capital’s new creative playground.
In the morning and afternoon of 13 March, government, business, and community stakeholders will explore ideas for creative programmes with UK experts from South Weest Screen and Bristol Watershed
Then at 7:00 PM, spectators can enjoy a one-night-only one-of-a-kind Video Mapping projection by UK-Indonesian artists. The event will forever transform how we see and think about the 400-year heritage site.
The evening will also see the launch of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Jakarta’s line of souvenir products, Jakarta Punya!
Then, there’s the special live performance by top local musicians and the winners’ announcement of the British Council-Kompas.com photo competition.
But the festivities actually start much earlier!
This will include photo competition, Old Town tour, UK-Indonesia short film screenings of city regeneration, and more.
So don’t miss the festivities. Be part of Old Town transformation. Download the updated schedule!
