Since we were founded in 1934 our mission has remained more or less constant - to build engagement and trust for the UK through the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people worldwide.
Our programmes aim to help young Indonesians realise their potential and, in so doing, to forge a stronger bi-lateral relationship with the UK. Creating opportunities for young Indonesians to help themselves, encouraging inter-cultural dialogue and delivering benefits to both Indonesia and UK is a compelling proposition that is not only cost effective but also sustainable in the long term.
Everything we do is made possible by our many partnerships, building mutually beneficial relationships with the Indonesian government, companies, institutions, not-for-profit organisations and the public. We work with our partners from the beginning of an idea so that what we do together meets both our needs.
Established in Indonesia in 1948, the British Council continues to make a difference in these core areas: English, Arts, and Education and Society.
