IYCE Awards 2012 Application Form
International Young Creative Entrepreneur Awards

Fashion & Design or Interactive & Screen 2012

The IYCE Award links the most talented young creative entrepreneurs from around the world with top creative industries leaders in UK.

The annual competition is unique for recognizing and connecting a global network of innovative emerging entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural sector. It champions those who find new ways to take creative work to audiences and communities – e.g. new models of production, distribution, value – and highlights the wider social, economic and cultural benefits in doing so.

It is about demonstrating leadership to develop the creative sector and cultural market. Above all, IYCE is a mindset. It’s about taking risks, seeing opportunities and going something you’re passionate about.

This year we present an even more exciting programme of UK visits in September for the Fashion & Design sector and October/November Screen & Interactive sector.

Win Trip to UK!

The award programme selects the best YCEs to go to UK for a transformational experience. In the UK, the international group (of 27 countries) is joined by their UK peers. Together, they meet UK experts, investors, attend relevant trade fairs and share market intelligence with the UK. The focus of the trip is to catalyse future collaborative creative business.

The 7-day all-expenses-paid industry visit to UK is designed to inspire new ideas and partnership as was the case with Wahyu Aditya, Yoris Sebastian, and Oscar Lawalata.

The Seed Funding Scheme piloted in 2012 started with successful IYCE champions such as Wahyu Aditya and Yoris Sebastian, developing projects which will have a sustainable impact on the social and economic development of Indonesia. They will collaborate with UK artitsts and/or bring in expertise from the UK to infuse the development of the creative economy in the country.

The 2009 IYCE Fashion winner, Oscar Lawalata, went on to collaborate with top UK textile designer, revitalising traditional Ikat and silk weaving that became the highlight of Jakarta Fashion Week 2011. He then went on to collaborate with a top UK milliner, Justin Smith, revitalising traditional Ikat and silk weaving with classic hats and headpieces that became the highlight of Jakarta Fashion Week 2012.
