BRITISH CHEVENING/YOUNG INDIAN BANKERS PROGRAMME
Bankers Programme at London School of Economics and Political Science 1999-2000
" The summer of 1999 will always remain a very special time in my memory bank.

Courtesy the British Chevening Scholarship, I was able to work in London with Barclays Bank and study at the London School of Economics, both a 'dream come true' for me. London is a very dynamic city and after having spent four months there, I was in a carefree state of mind and amongst like-minded individuals. It will always be my 'second home'.

Being artistically inclined and fond of music, I spent my spare time (and spare money!) catching up with the rich theatre and musicals the city had to offer. The glorious weekend destinations were so easily accessible even by students on a shoestring budget. I will never forget the experience where a few colleagues along with me, hired a car and drove to Scotland for five days with no plan of where we would stay or which direction we would take the next morning.

It is a magnificent countryside and I highly recommend it to the lucky students who have yet to experience this land, which is so rightly called 'God's Own'. I thank the British Council for the rich and varied experiences in that special and memorable summer of '99!!"
