MSc Gender and Social Policy at London School of Economics    2000-2001
"I did a course on MSc Gender and Social Policy at the London School of Economics and to put in a few words this highly satisfying learning experience of one year, doesn't do justice to it.

The academic experience at the London School of Economics met more than my expectations. The high quality teaching, different international perspectives, class diversity and participative learning made the whole academic exercise very enjoyable. More so, the flexibility to choose and literally design the course to suit my needs made it even more gratifying. The programme gave me the relevant academic orientation, which shall feed into my work on the field.

In addition, the chance to make friends and interact with people from across the globe added that little extra. I haven't experienced any other western city that's as multicultural as London. Everything about London is wonderful - the people, the musicals, the tube, the libraries, the multi-cuisines, the fashion and yes even the weather, which has its own charm!

Being in London was like being centrally located on the globe. Thanks to the various low-cost airlines, you have access to any place on the world map at throw-away prices. This gave me the chance to visit some countries in Europe as well.

The highlight of the year was my HOST experience in Scotland. I had such a wonderful Scottish family where I enjoyed the company of men in kilts, good whisky, mind-blowing hill walks in the snow and I almost met the Ness! A Christmas that I shall never forget!

The British Council afforded me with an opportunity of this one-year stint, the memories of which I shall always cherish!"
