BRITISH CHEVENING/UNIVERSITY OF HULL SCHOLARSHIPS
MA Security Studies at the University of Hull 2000-2001
"I enjoyed my year at the University of Hull as a Chevening Scholar in 2000-2001. No doubt, to be a recipient of the scholarship I had to get past tough challenges, but they were all well rewarded during the past year.

Firstly, the Politics Department where I did a Master's degree in Security Studies ( Defence) was a fabulous one. The Chevening Scholarships are instituted only in the best of departments and I did not have to go through the process of choosing a good deptartment, as my deparment  turned out to be great!

The frequent contact with the small community of Chevening Scholars in Hull also flowered into a multicultural experience, where I got to meet the cream of the academic/professional community from different countries.

The Scholarship also allowed me to experience British culture. I went on the HOST programme and visited a British family in the Isle of Man. It was a beautiful holiday and a learning experience!!

So I hope many of you out there strive hard to prove yourself worthy of Chevening. I guarantee that you will have opened the doors to the best one year of your life. I feel I have amassed the experience of a lifetime, become more independent, and am ready to face the challenges that lie ahead."
