COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS
An annual scheme that funds a wide range of subjects

This is an annual scheme made available to all Commonwealth countries by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission. The India programme is managed jointly by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU, UK); Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India and the British Council.

The Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has announced the COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS/FELLOWSHIPS PLAN, 2008-UK.

ELIGIBILITY
For more information, see the scholarship eligibility criteria or the fellowship eligibility criteria.

VISAS
Student visas for the UK will be arranged gratis by the British Council.

AWARD
Master's/M.Phil/ PhD/ six-months clinical training/Fellowship.

FUNDING
University fees, scholar's return travel, allowance for books, apparatus, approved study, travel, personal maintenance (plus allowances, where applicable, for spouse and children). Fixed Research Support Grant in case of research.

If you are already in the UK, the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) can help you with general information concerning the scheme, but it cannot issue application forms to international students.
