BRITISH CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS
India Programme

The Chevening programme supports around 2000 individuals from across the globe annually to study in the UK, of which approximately 50 come from India annually - the second largest single national group.The FCO offers successful applicants complete scholarships covering tuition fees (of up to ₤12,000), economy flights to and from the UK and living costs. Some scholars may receive contributions from partners and sponsors of FCO.

The scholarships offer highly coveted opportunities for India's future leaders, decision makers and opinion formers. The scholarships are specifically meant for outstanding Indians who are leaders in their own fields and are looking to form networks & strengthen their opportunities. They help recipients hone their leadership qualities by providing them with an opportunity to study in the stimulating intellectual environs of Britain's leading institutions of higher learning.

Successful applicants are judged on their personal attributes like intelligence, academic potential, drive, self management, strength of character, integrity, relevant interests outside work and wish to “make a difference” as well as their leadership potential such as their influencing and communications skills, track record, existing network of contacts, ambitions and plans for the future

The Chevening Alumni comprises leaders from civil society, academia, government, NGOs and business. Every alumnus works in partnership with other alumni, spread across the globe, on issues of mutual interest, strengthening ties between the UK and India.

Chevening South Asia Journalism Programme 2012

The Chevening South Asia Journalism Programme is an exclusive new Scholarship Programme for high flying, mid carrier journalists . In the pilot year, we invite applications from India and Pakistan. The Foregin and Commonwealth Office present this remarkable leadership course for future media leaders and opinion formers from India and Pakistan

This is a remarkable leadership course for future media leaders and opinion formers from India and Pakistan Entitled 'Good Governance: the Media. Politics and Democracy', the course will be held the renowned Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Westminster and will take place over eight weeks in London from 31 March 2012 oonwards.

Chevening Rolls-Royce Science & Innovation Leadership Programme 2012

The Chevening Rolls-Royce Science and Innovation Leadership Programme presents a remarkable and challenging eleven week opportunity at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, one of the UK’s premier universities. This course is ideal for mid-career government, science or media professional with leadership potential and experience in any of the followoing or similar disciplines: reasearch, technology, manufacturing, business development or business and public administration.

Chevening Gurukul Scholarships     

Chevening Gurukul is a unique 12-week, advanced leadership programme, created by the renowned London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) specifically for India’s future leaders. It was launched in 1997 to mark 50 years of India’s independence.

Each year, this Programme enables twelve exceptional Indian men and women to participate in an intensive exploration of the challenges of top leadership in a globalising world through a programme of academic studies, field visits and seminars, debates with practitioners, and individual projects of direct personal relevance.

The selected candidates are offered an intense, all expenses-paid, 12 week residential course at the LSE. Through a combination of closely supervised project work, academic courses, field visits, seminars, debates and interactions with some of today's top public figures,
