AREAS OF FOCUS - PARTICIPATION AND DEMOCRACY, GENDER EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY
We work to promote initiatives that support the UK Government's foreign policy objectives of spreading the value of human rights, civil liberties, democracy and the rule of law.

Based on our role and approach our rights and society work has been divided into the following four broad categories:
PARTICIPATION AND DEMOCRACY

We work in fostering and developing approaches and debate on participation and democracy to ensure greater equality of access to civil government issues. The Women in Leadership and Decision Making programme was ideal for women who want to become better leaders. The programme aimed at helpling women manage their personal and professional life effectively and efficiently. It was also for men interested in encouraging women to take a more active participation in leadership.

LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS
Whether you're interested in maintaining human rights or protecting the law from being abused, these hands-on programmes are superb for changing attitudes and policies to protect civilian rights. Our programme OptiMusic effectively utilised a unique combination of sound and lights and offered anyone with sensory impairments the opportunity to magically influence their environment. OptiMusic was granted "Millennium Product Status" by the Design Council, in Britain.
GENDER EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY

Our judicial and police programmes are focussed on working to protect, raise awareness and promote equality for vulnerable groups. Judicial Colloquia on Gender and Law project examined how the law can provide protection for those who need it most. Policing for Vulnerable Groups programme focussed on how to deal with victims sensitively and considerately.

MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMIC REFORMS

Our programmes focus on the social and economic reforms of the economy, be it from government or corporate sector. We work in areas of corporate social responsibility, economic reforms for poverty reduction and other related issues. In partnership with New Academy of Business, UK and Management Development Institute we conducted a pilot course on Business and Society. It is a hands-on practitioner’s course - reflected in its design and the use of a ‘workplace’ project.

Queen Elizabeth House Programme on Social and Economic Reforms are summary papers of more detailed research reports written by the Indian visiting fellows to Queen Elisabeth House, Oxford. The research papers are studies on Economic and Social Policy Reform.
