Proposal writing workshop for Directors of Women’s Studies Centres

The British Council is organising a proposal writing workshop which will be conducted by Jan Kingsley, Director Corporate Services, European Foundation for Management Development.  Directors of the Women’s Studies Centres will be participating in this workshop which is aimed at enhancing their skills of writing proposals enhancing their possibilities of getting international funding and establishing research links with other universities.
This workshop marks a closure of the Women’s Studies Network (WSN) being managed by the British Council since its inception in 2004.  The WSN is a collaborative initiative of the British Council and twenty four Women’s Studies centres of universities in India.

Law Teaching and Legal Research Skills Training Programme
October 2006-February 2007
Venue:Raipur, Mumbai and Hyderabad
The British Council India in collaboration with Cardiff University, Wales organised, a three week training programme for law teachers from various Indian law schools at the University in February - March 2006. The programme aimed to enhance the law teaching and legal research skills of the participating law teachers.  On return from Cardiff, the trained law teachers were to cascade the training to other law teachers within their region. As part of the cascade programme two cascade training programmes have been successfully organised at Hidayatullah National Law University Raipur and Government Law College Mumbai.  Another programmes will be organised at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in February 2007.Twenty five law teachers from the region will attend the programme.
