India

Chair of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). She received the Padma Bhushan in 2009 for her services in the field of education and literature. An economist of international standing, she is also member of the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council.
Almudena Suárez Fernández
Mexico

Deputy Director-General of International Relations at Mexico’s Ministry of Social Development (SEDESOL). She is responsible for coordinating the international agenda of the Ministry, which includes the international dissemination of Mexico’s Social Policy Strategy. She joined SEDESOL in 2006.

Professor Emeritus of Sociology, University of Delhi and National Research Scholar. Leading sociologist and a former member of the National Knowledge Commission, he has explored significant issues on religion, inequality, poverty and the nurturing of public institutions facing India today. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2005.

Professor at the Ravi J. Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He specialises in management of basic education, social entrepreneurship, the non-profit sector and sustainable development. Has worked widely with social development organisations on programs for socio-economically marginalised dalit and tribal communities.
Shirley Cramer
United Kingdom

Chief Executive, Dyslexia Action since 2000. Under her leadership Dyslexia Action has become the leading provider of dyslexia services in Europe. Shirley works widely in the education sector. She was on the National Council of the Learning and Skills Council. She is an advisory board member of the National Literacy Trust. Awarded a CBE for her contribution to education in 2009.
Jonathan Douglas
United Kingdom

Director, National Literacy Trust, from 2007. Previously Jonathan was head of policy development at the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, where he also worked as head of learning and access. He is on the Advisory Committee of Every Child a Reader and the Advisory Committee of the Man Booker Prize.
