OPTION1: REGISTER ONLINE
Click here and register online to take the IELTS test with the British Council in India.
Payment options: To register on-line you can choose any one of the following payment options:
- Use your credit card online through the link to Worldpay, the secure global online payment site
- In cash at any branch of ICICI Bank. Download the ICICI payment slip.
- By demand draft* by post or in person at your nearest British Council office.
- By credit card in person at the nearest British Council office.
IMP: Please bring 2 recent passport-sized colour photographs with you to the test if you register online.
Note: In case you do not receive the payment receipt from the British Council regional office within 7 days of registration or 5 days prior to the exam, please contact our customer relations team. For more information please contact Customer Relations Executive.
OPTION 2: REGISTER BY POST OR IN PERSON
- Download the application form or collect in person from your agent, the nearest British Council or British Library office. Alternatively, telephone your nearest office and these would be sent to you.
- Complete the application form and attach your passport photocopy and photographs
Payment options - You can pay by:
- Cash at any branch of ICICI Bank. Download the ICICI payment slip.
- Demand draft*.
- Credit card at your nearest British Council office.
- Send the application form and your stamped ICICI payment slip/demand draft to the nearest British Council or British Library office or take it there.
Note: Demand drafts should be payable to ‘British Council Division’ at the appropriate city (Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata or Mumbai).
