REGISTRATION OPTIONS
You can register for IELTS in any of the following ways:

Register online
Register in person at your nearest British Council office
Register by post / courier. Send your complete IELTS Application Form by post/ courier to your nearest British Council office. The application will be processed upon receipt and your seat will be allocated subject to availability.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
If you register online in addition to other requirements, you will also need to bring:

two passport sized colour photographs (not older than six months)
a photocopy of your valid passport

If you are registering in person or by post / courier, you need:

a completed and signed application form
two passport sized colour photographs (not older than six months)
a photocopy of your valid passport

Please note:
1. If you register online and would like to pay by demand draft or through the ICICI bank, the payment should reach us within 3 days of the online registration at the latest.

2. Demand draft should be made to British Council Division and payable at:

     Delhi for North India
     Mumbai for West India
     Chennai for South India
     Kolkata for East India

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We do not accept applications by e-mail, fax or phone.
As seats are on a first come first served basis, we recommend that you register two weeks in advance. To check for the availability of seats for your preferred test date, please contact your nearest British Council office.
If you would like your results – up to a maximum of five (5) copies – to be sent to universities free of charge then please include the relevant addresses on your application form. This service can only be offered free at the time of registering for the exam or on the day of the exam.
IELTS is not recommended for candidates under the age of 16.
Please ensure that you give a courier serviceable address on the application form.
A valid passport is the only document which is acceptable in India for IELTS registration.
